The Gingerbread Book Barter.

We gratefully accept book donations during our Friday hours, 11 am – 7 pm. Donate at least 5 books that meet the below guidelines and we’ll trade you for a gingerbread cookie. If you have a large donation (more than one bag/box), or if you’re not sure if your titles will be of interest to us, please call, email us at breadcrumbs@gingerbreadbookshop.com, or message us on Instagram @gingerbread_bookshop with photos. Donations are greatly appreciated as they help keep our prices equitable for all.

We accept

  • Fiction & non-fiction books for all ages.
  • Hardcover or trade paperback.
  • Books must be in very good – like new condition.

We aren’t in need of

  • Textbooks or outdated non-fiction.
  • Books that are damaged, marked, dirty, yellowed, or worn.
  • Library discards.
  • Pocket paperbacks (the compact, mass market ones).

Join our mailing list.

We send out (very) occasional notes about what’s happening at the shop.
